I looked, but apparently did not see what you saw. Lafitte was also said to come inland from the Gulf up into the lake that became "Charlie's Lake" and later Lake Charles, where I live. IN fact, we have an annual pirate festival here (for two weeks before Mother's Day). It was called Contraband Days for 50 years and they changed the name (inexplicably) last year to - the Louisiana Pirate Festival. Dumb name, when the other one was just fine and established. Honestly, it may sound cool, but really is pretty lame. I haven't been in years. Not really doing my part for local tourism. :D
