Hey guys I'm getting back into the hobby again after some years of being away from it. Just got some questions for ya.

So I'm trying to the build on my 46bow on a budget. I know its crazy. I got a marineland 360 canister filter that I'm wanting to use for awhile u tip money is there for the sump. If I clean it every water change and stay on top of the media should it be ok. I will also be running a HOB slimmer and wave makers as well. I will be putting in a 2 to 3" sand bed with 70lbs of rock. Just want your opinion and some good advice. Thanks retired11b

Hi and welcome. :-)

Not ideal, but it should work out just fine. Canisters do what they are made for as long as you do the routine maintenance.

Welcome to R2R and back to the hobby. Short answer is the canister can work but you have to keep it clean, and likely more than just once a week. Commit to it and save up for a sump.

Welcome to R2R ,the best place to be :)

Welcome aboard, DustinTWilliams!

As you've already experienced, this place is as good as it gets for honest answers to the most vexing of reefing questions . . .

Hope you enjoy the journey!
