Broken Epoxy effect on water

Hi,

I have two little fishies AquaStik epoxy, that was holding my aquascape together. It broke apart just now, and a bunch of the flaky, broken bits went everywhere. I turned my pumps and powerheads and chucked carbon in it. The water cleared up, but should I just do a big water change, or is epoxy like this fine? I have had the rock structure in the tank for about 2.5 months now.

Couldn't find an exact answer, looking around and not sure what to do.

Should be fine. All of this epoxy for reef tanks is supposed to be non-toxic

You should be alright, should be non-toxic. The chunkletts suck to have strewn about though, i would siphon them out, but either way, you should be good.

Epoxy adhesives are inert when cured.

It wont do anything chemically to the tank, and the fish will just spit it out.

Your filter will clear it out eventually.

Sorry that happened to you, but that aquastick stuff is not strong enough to hold rocks together, its barely strong enough to hold frags in place. I would suggest to use reef cement next time.

Yeah, it was what came with the kit. They also specified that it just holds it up, not really glued it together. Bad luck with the rock shapes too.
