This has been an interesting coral. My Dad got me this coral for my birthday last year and it was a rusty brown color. When my tank crashed last summer I lost about 90% of it - I was only able to save this frag and one other. It never had much polyp extension until now, when I moved the frag to a lower light and very low flow area. It’s a purple color now and has started growing and seems very happy.

Might be. Post #89 shows it when I got it.
Gotta love those surprises. I had an acro that was turning a nice redish color with green polyps up until I killed it. Some of those generic looking acros can turn into gems.

Update: Added an Eheim automatic fish feeder and am working on getting my Reef-Pi controller built. Messing with 120v power is definitely out of my comfort zone, but I have it working.

I have had an Eheim for over a year now.. still haven't used it. Some day I will hook it up to start feeding pellets mid day.

I agree, 120V is a little low to work with. I much prefer working on my 35,000V system. Everything gets too challenging when I have to work on the 500,000V system. Its so far off the ground and the components are so large it takes the joy out of it.

Our LFS had a special on a Kessil H80 + chaeto + 10lbs of rubble rock for $145 so I grabbed one. The chaeto and macro algae I had in my fuge just was growing, so it was time to upgrade.

Connecting a liquor bottle to your doser so it can refill your dink at a continuous and controlled rate. You win the award for best invention ever! :p

Spent a lot of time moving corals around today. My big RBTA decided to move to the left a couple of weeks ago and I rearranged a couple of rocks to accommodate. He was still encroaching on two other acros so I decided to move them as well - and glad I did. As soon as I moved them he filled in those spots. I also moved one of my torches away from the palys he had been battling and put a Stylophora in his place. Lastly, cut some frags for trading in our local reef group.

Reef thread update: the tank is pretty much on autopilot right now while I complete my reef-pi controller. All of the electronics are completed - just need to build the wooden cabinet it is going to be mounted on.

I'm way too lazy to build my own reef-pi controller. Tanks are enough work!

I won the photo contest at our local reef club meeting last night and one of the prizes was the frag tree shown in this pic. I really like it!

That is pretty sweet! My regal tang would love pulling frags out of something like that!
