Hey guys,
So I have this brown hair algae only growing on 3 of my rocks, but is growing on the sand. I’m confused to how this is happening because I have 0 nitrates and 0 phosphate and I just want to get it all cleaned up, the CUC isn’t really doing the job lol. Any thoughts?

The 0 nitrates and 0 phosphates may be due to the algae sucking all of it up. I had a problem like this around the 4-month mark of my first tank. I solved it by using a turkey baster to blow the algae and a bunch of detritus out of my rocks and then I got a black long spine urchin and I have not had the problem since.

Yeah this is around the 6 month mark so I’m not sure why but yeah I’ll see if I can get it off the rocks but what about the sand
