Hey gang,

Woke up this morning to find one of my torches like this. I pulled it from the tank, iodine dipped it, and placed it in my QT tank. Does this appear to be BJD?

Concerned about my other torch and hammer in my DT, both seem to be fine as of now. Water parameters are all within range, minus phos which is high at 0.16. Working on bringing it down with lighter feedings and consistent water changes.

If it smells like salty death, it's BJD.

0.16 po4 by itself is not that big of a deal, but you need to provide other info other than just po4.

Update, it wasn't BJD. I caught one of my two "fake" peppermint shrimp that an LFS (that I no longer frequent) sold me as true peppermints getting after another torch. They've since been sumped. I've got the torch back in my DT and it seems to be stable minus the chewed-up head.

I recently had a similar issue. Bought two peppermint shrimp for my biocube and they went straight for the aptasia--gone in one night. Then...well then they got hungry. Next thing I know, three of my Euphyllia are gone. Dead. Eaten. :downcast-face-with-sweat:

Luckily, they only seem to have a taste for these guys. They've left the SPS and softies alone.
