I’ve recently lost a few heads on my Duncan which is about 7 years old. I see some brown slime which I fear is brown jelly disease. I did recently experience a drop in ALK from 8 to about 5.5 DkH, which I am slowly bringing back up (roughly 0.3 DkH per day). Guessing this may be the cause, if this is in fact brown jelly. Any suggestions on how to treat this would be greatly appreciated. I’m not sure I will be able to remove this whole colony and dip, unless I frag into several mini colonies.

Don’t see anything in pic. In fact your Duncan looks great.

Sorry, I should have marked it up initially. I‘ve circled some of the heads that have died recently, and added an arrow to the most recent loss which still has some of the brown slime on it.

Ah yes, now I see. It looks like BJ. Those are toast unfortunately, but my concern would be it spreading to the healthy heads. Can you try turning off all flow in the tank and siphon it off from the effected heads?

Straight up peroxide? Or diluted with tank water?
Standard peroxide, I think it’s 3% which drugstores sell. The ratio to gallons does the diluting. Search here on R2R.l for more info. People use for BJ, hair algae, aiptasia. It’s quite the omnipotent tonic.
