Maybe you misunderstood my original post. I said that some sps polyps are brown, not all sps polyps are brown. I understood your second post as "sps don't have brown polyps". Am I incorrect? That is why I posted that photo.
I am assuming you also feel that the polyps on the Spongodes are brown. Your photos look like all sorts of polyp colors to me.
I hope that cleared any confusion that my posts may have made. If your corals originally had a colored polyps, but now they are brown polyps, then that information would be helpful. I have never heard of the zooxanthellae maintaining good color but the polyps browning out. Is it all of your SPS?
