BRS - Reef Nutrition Pods - DOA Again

I've been on the hunt for Reef nutrition Tigger pods. I think for the money they offer the best value. Today I received my replacement order of pods from BRS. 3 bottles. Again they were all dead. The water smells like eggs, not fresh phyto. No movement after room temp for 4+ hours.

What I don't understand is why these are shipped during the winter with 3 massive ice packs. It only makes sense that they were literally frozen to death. Shipping took 4 days. I emailed BRS but don't expect to hear back until Monday.

Has anyone had a positive experience buying these through BRS? I have read that buying through Reef Nutrition comes with a risky DOA policy and have turned away customers from a replacement.

Why order pods in the first place? Biggest gimmick out there

I have 3 fish that eat pods in a nano and I do add them time to time to help keep the population strong. One could argue I shouldn't have 3 fish in a nano that depend on pods, if my pod population can't keep up. But I don't mind "boosting" the population once every 2 months.

I wouldn't say it's a gimmick, but speeds up the time to having a healthy pod population. Most tanks don't need pods in the population id like to have because their fish aren't dependent on them.
