BRS space saver jug

I am confused here. This space saver jug says it is 1.05 gallon, but the description says "Each jug can hold just shy of 1 gallon". Which is it? If it is indeed 1.05 gallon does anyone know if it is marked anywhere, I looked at an old one I have and there is a line but that looks like a line where it is molded.

Haven’t a clue. Maybe they don’t count the area right under the cap or the mistyped. In any case if you want to be super precise just measure it out and mark it.

Yeah when the new one comes in I am just going to measure out water with measuring cups to be positive, then mark the container with a marker. It would be nice to have an official comment though.

1.05 gallons = 4 liters. I don’t have one of these yet, but having dealt with similar containers. One possibility is that the 4 liters includes the space in the handle, where, as the practical space is a little less than 1 gallon.

This is definitely a bit confusing, so I'll have our team update this page with better information. If you fill the jug to the line just below the handle with water and no 2 part additive dry mix you will be able to fill with 4 liters of water (1.05 gallons), but if you fill the jug full to the cap with just water you will find the jug holds close to 1.2 gallons (tested by weight). I believe the description was factoring in the use of mixing dry calcium chloride, soda ash, etc. with the mix which would reduce the volume of water needed to fill. This adds to confusion so our team will be updating the page to avoid confusion.

Thanks, that is where I was at. I even watched the mixing videos and it was hard to figure if they meant put power in first, etc.
