It’s moving around but I noticed the area is now black and brown. Still eating and still covering itself and I don’t see a break in the shell. No spines are dropped but it looks gnarly. I really don’t want to lose him.It looks ok.
Only time will tell. My Urchin bounces between tanks. If provided with a food source and supplanted with nori strips, and decent water chemistry most Urchins do fine.
pending your ritual, if you leave it outdoors for a week, the insects will take care of the inside and you can shellac him if you were keen on keeping the shell. I had one like that that came in on live rock the size of a pencil erasure. grew quickly to about 2" or so then just died. I had a halloween which is the coolest looking of them but when it arrived there was no water in the bag from the spines piercing. it survived for about a month. I have a tuxedo in there now doing great. The hardiest is the pencils but they really don't move around much. it happens. Will do what a shame he was doing very well I guess the fall did him no good..
