Hello everyone, I recently noticed that one side of my giant clams shell has been 3/4 covered with bubble algae.
Should i remove the rock with the clam in a bucket and scrape it off, or is there a better/safer way?

You can do that, depending on where the clam is attached.

I would also just get an emerald crab

The clam is attached on a piece of rock that is easy to remove with the rock, so that won't be a problem.
I love crabs, but from what I've read in the forum they're not exactly reef safe, and that's why I have my doubts.
I don't want them munching on my anemones or corals.
Do you have any experience with emeralds?

There are several different crabs that is commonly sold as emerald crabs, so if that's the route you want to take research the different ones and make sure you get the right one from a reputable source . Far as crabs and shrimp go, trust should be earn with each individual. Crabs are going to crab, kinda like goats they will be fine, but one will always try to eat everything to include your car.

I see. I will clean this up manually for now and research more for the crabs. The only good fish seller I have here in france is recifathome, I've been ordering from them around 90% of my livestock including corals and fish, and never had a problem with them, everything was of really high quality, they have an emerald crab and I think I will trust them on this one.
