Hi all
Please tell me someone has a chemical fix for bubble Algae!
200 gallon tank , prob got away from me! 2 year old established system. Finally no other nuisance Algae!
Nitrates -2.5
Phos PPB -2
I’ve tried to manual extract as much as possible but it’s around some coral and within rock crevices!
Any other options out there
Thanks

VIBRANT, worked for me, bubble algae gone in about a month. It's a large thread but has everything you need to know to get rid of it.

Grab some emerald crabs. They will get rid of them the natural way.

I tried vibrent before also. It did seem to shrink the bubbles away after a few months. however, for me it caused a major outbreak in cyno and red turf algae. After I stopped and used chemi clean to get rid of cyno all the bubble algae came back worse than when I started.

If using vibrant, feed feed feed. I tried and bottomed my nutrients out before doing my homework and ended up with Dino and cyano outbreak so stopped dosing the vibrant. Got it all under control, except the bubble algae, and added a bunch of emeralds. Slowly getting it knocked out.

A good idea following dosing of these chemicals are the addition of your favorite “bacteria in a bottle” :D. Most of these chemicals work by reducing the algae’s food source which in turn will kill the algae (and bacteria) that feed on that excess nutrients. By supplementing with additional bacteria and good skimming, once the nutrients begin to increase, the system wouldn’t be as out of wack.

used Vibrant in my 560gal. no issue. killed all the bubble algae after 4 weeks of dosing. wasn't cheap but nothing else works. i'd need an army of crabs that will probably end up eating more coral than bubble..

anyways.. if you do try Vibrant, it will kill all your chaeto. corals and anemone all fine. no cyano for me
