Hi all,

Yesterday I bought a new Torch, Hammer and Bubble coral. I went through my standard dip process witb CoralRx, but I did a 30 seconds RO/DI freshwater dip for the Bubble Coral which I'm still regretting...inexperienced dumb self.
The point is both, Hammer and Torch are doing fantastic, but unfortunately the Bubble Coral still hasn't open like I saw in the store. I have placed right next to a Toxic Splash Bubble coral. Do I need to move it away from the other bubble coral? Do I have any hope on it fully opening?

Thanks for any advice !

It's a new addition so all you can do is wait and see. I've never fresh water dipped a coral. A bubble is my oldest coral and has been pretty hardy but does sulk every once in a while. If it bounces back you may have to move it further away from the other coral. They can be aggressive.

Thanks. Should I move it even if the other coral is Toxic Splash Bubble cora?

Personally I would never freshwater dip,,, it is different salinity, different alk, different ph, different everything, but we always preach stability.
Yes, I learned my lesson. I watched the beginner series on BRS YouTube channel where it mentioned the freshwater dip (if I can recall correctly). I won't be doing that again. That's for sure. Thanks

TBH I'm not really sure as I've never kept two. Interesting to hear bubble coral are getting designer names. All I've ever seen were bubble coral and green bubble coral lol

EDIT : What does a toxic splash bubble coral look like under whites?

Oh my, yeah, don't do that again.

I think the best you can do is wait and see. If it looks like it starts to melt, pull it out.
I wouldn't think it would matter being next to the other but if you want to play it safe I don't see any harm in moving it over slightly, they do have long sweepers.

I got the toxic splash bubble coral from AquaSD. Is the one to the left of the Bubble Coral I mentioned in my original post. This is a photo from their site. Please remove if not allowed. Thanks

I moved it to the side jsu a bit, and it looks like it is opening little by little. Check the pictures. I've also included a pic of the toxic splash bubble coral right next to it. There s different bubble coral in the back as well.

Give it time and then check on flow. They do not like high flow and more bubbles will come out under lower flow

I would certainly schooch them a little bit away from eachother. We uaually keep the large bubble and pearl bubble corals in close proximity but have not tried to have them in touching / sweeper tentacle distance in fear that they would eat eachother like how acan lords and acan echinatas will eat eachother.

Interesting. I separated them a bit and the bubble coral is bouncing back little by little. It definitely looks way better than it did yesterday, so there's hope. I'll find it a better spot in the tank to avoid contact with other corals. Thanks
