Cleaned out the Venturi even gave it a quick bath in vinegar, no signs that its getting any better

Hmm, I ran the BM5 prior to the Deltec I use now and the Deltec is much louder. Your video didnt portray much of a difference in audible noise (sounded just like mine) so I believe it is working as intended and you're just sensitive to the sound the venturi makes. If that bugs you, stay away from Deltec because it's a lot louder (I measured 10db delta between on and off).

But, then I wonder that a friend of mine has the exact same skimmer, and its at least 1/4 of the noise mine does o_O

Well that is odd; different pumps or impellers?

he has the SP1000 and I also have this pump same impeller. Its the exact same skimmer

Can you toss your skimmer in his sump for a bit? Maybe your sump and/or stand resonate just right and amplify the sound? Or, try running an input tube from outside the stand to silencer (probably louder)?

not much space in the sump, but the little that I can move it does nothing. The airline extension I tried also did not work

UPDATE: I talked to my lfs and they were kind enough to send me a new impeller, which should arrive Wednesday. Fingers crossed its going to be better :D

Mine is silent. Make sure the red cap on the silencer is sealed around the O-ring. If it isn't well sealed, use some silicone lubricant on the O-ring to help it seal completely. From your video, it looked like it may not have been sealed onto the O-ring.
