I was looking at the back panel of my tank through the side and I’m noticing a few tiny bubbles in a straight horizontal pattern & one diagonal straight line that seems like a scratch but from the inside the panel.

None of them can be felt from outside. I’m assuming these are either defects in glass or stress marks. Glass is 3/4” thick and 8’ L by 30” high. Tank is eurobraced. Any thoughts on whether I need to replace the back panel or not? Tank has only been up for about a month, leveled.

Try cleaning the inside glass and see if it comes off.

They can’t be felt from the inside. Marks are “floating” middle of the pane & more noticeable when looked at from an angle

I am going to say they are defects in the glass. Is this tank from a reputable tank builder? I don't think the tank will have any issues, but I would have the tank replaced as it shouldn't be there.

I'm right there with Billdg, I've never seen it before. But if it's inside the glass and in a straight line, I'm thinking glass manufacturing defect. Probably not an issue. But if the manufacturer or distributor will make it good, I'd go to the trouble to do it. A tank this big, I assume you paid a lot for it, I'd want it perfect!

It's from a reputable tank builder. After looking at the pictures, he stated that air bubbles on glass does not affect strength. Not sure I agree entirely. I'm going to send over a few more videos and try to determine what the next best step is.

I agree; it's such a big tank and the fact that this only seems to be happening on the back panel and none of the other panels is making me nervous. I've seen similar "bubbles" occur in large acrylic tanks when they craze but not on glass like this.

Here's a video of view from the side. Around 3 second mark, you can see the long diagonal "scratch" that seems to be floating in the middle of the glass panel.
