I'm running a 250w halide and t5. I did a large wc and stopped dosing amino just in case. I had this many years ago. It would only stay on a select few pieces. Whatever, I'm not going to stress it. I'll just observe and see if I can make sense of it. It is kind of tempting to pop the bubbles lol. I see them moving in the current.
Same! Lol

I’ve seen the same blister like bubbles pop up every now and then on my Stylo for the longest time now. I’m not worried since the Stylo seems not stressed with it and still grows like a weed.

Hello!

I also have a similar problem with my corals. Affected are:

- stony coral
- staghorn
- cactus coral
- seriatopora (I poped one buble and it stopped, but the growth is irregular)
- leaf plate montipora

I'm sorry if I don't write the names correctly, I live in Germany and some coral names are different or I can't translate it correctly.

'Bubbling' started 4 weeks ago, (1 coral) and then spread to the others. This only affects the new tissue. Some corals forms calcareous skeleton under the bubble and some have recovered from this and regular growth is to see.

Pictures will follow shortly.

My tank:
- nano 80 l cube (22 gallon) :):)
- chemistry ok / only smal traces of metals are to find
- cyanos
- light: ATI Sirius x1 (old versions)
- I add carbonate (8,5 at the moment) + trace elements

I plan to limit the dosage and increase light intensity by 2-3%. + water changes 2 times a week 10% each. I want to avoid antibiotics for now. I'll let you know how it goes.

Marcin

Here some photos. Last coral is not affected.
Yours look more like a alk burn from too high of alk and low nutrients. I don’t really see the bubbles were all experiencing

So a few weeks ago I started up a QT tank with copper for an infected clownfish. I have been real careful trying not to cross contaminate my reef by using the same water change water change hoses or pump. Maybe I missed something???? I noticed a cleaner shrimp died a few weeks ago. It became lethargic and eventually just froze up and died, almost like I dosed interception or something. Today I testing the display for copper with a hanna tester and got .13 (tested twice). Is that level dangerous enough to affect coral? I read something from Randy homes Farley there he says the hanna is useless for low level copper reading, but when I test RODI water I get .01 which tells me there is a disparity between the boat samples.

For now I'm running a bunch of fresh carbon and ordered a few polyfiters. We'll see if anything changes in the scrotum skin looking acros :D.If anyone has a hanna copper test kit, give your tank a test. curious what level you get.

As far as an update on my corals — still no bubbling has returned… in fact that coral has started to put polyps out even more than I’ve seen in over a year.

I have still seen some acros with the “tulip” shape polyps though and my JF fox flame seems to cycle through skin breaks and regrowth. This has me thinking it might be a different issue than the bubbling. Pics to show.

Well that makes two of us that bubbling went away after increasing light.

You guys need to start a new thread about how Halides are better than LED's.

Hey guys, just thought I’d jump on here. I recently noticed my Leptoseris is bubbling/bouncing. It’s just one big bubble on it. I’m not too concerned, all my other sticks look fine but just wanted to add it’s not just branching sticks but affects encrusters too.

I guess I should put more info in. Only dosing All For Reef. Running 2x250W 10k halides with aliexpress led bars as a supplement. This one is about 8 inches below the water line and about 20-24 inches below the halides. I don’t have test numbers right now as I don’t test that often.
