thought it was time to strike on sea hare. Just added there this minute. Chemicals more expensive and if someone said if pay me this I’ll manually remove so i snapped and went how amazing and this could be only time I get to experience one ever again. So hopefully all goes well. Will post seahare later. Called for bag a chips and went into a fish shop while waiting stumbled upon this shroom garden. Like I was gonna pass that. Got another nem too when getting seahare.

ED2F3AF1-E999-4AF0-AB06-E016B8BDC758.jpeg Params seem to be back in check start dialing now and see the craic. Seahare hasn’t really done anything just on the glass and back wall. Research said cud be full and some take few days and some are hit and miss. But Monday was the last I saw them. So bit worried now. Two cheeky nems added. £40 delivered for the pup and £55 delivered for the beast. Wasn’t expecting pup but looks great so hopefully works out. Dialed whites back to just to get out this stage. Bubble algae is well back but gha everywhere still. Fish and corals happy.

Nems settling well. Really happy with the big lad. Pup doing well but it’s near always part covered in sand.
Overdosed kalk, not sure how think I added vinegar to kalk while back and this is supersaturated. May actually explain how I got so high last time.
GHA is still crazy, bubble algae near gone. Seahare was found dead unfortunately. Didn’t understand why. But then a local reefer had one for rehoming. Well wasn’t my seahare a wee fart. That thing is a monster. Added the beast and well I just saw my CBB go straight into his holes and take a bite. I couldn’t believe it. I saw him rip his ear so hard seahare came off rock. I know exactly now why my seahare disappeared. He was not hacking that. Not sure, how this guy will fare out. tank not far off being in balance. So hopefully all can be in place before the 1 year mark. In fairness minus gha corals in great shape.

Boy do I have the nem bug. But seriously £30 plus 8pp. Photos were dodge, badly named. Took a punt and it’s epic. Really delighted with it.
Tank seems to be stable, still GHA but seahare still motoring around (have seen him only once actually polish a tuff of gha) so hopefully this is all good news. Would like to dial a few items on doser now and dial salt container now it’s consistent.
In sad news I lost my exquisite wrasse. He swam bit funny so think he hurt spine, also he has always damaged scales from what I thought was were he chose home and it got worse. Everyone else seems fine, he just didn’t come out to eat one or two days and that’s all she wrote.

Seahare still doing his nocturnal business, slight rise in nutrients but I believe that’s gha removal. Pretty happy. Hopefully just gets better and better and I can dial with.

Nem Garden coming on a treat, lost one few day after arrival. It was on move soon as put in and then died not sure what happened. Was a pink rim.
Seahare plowing on happily. So must be doing something right.

still a wip. Nutrients better shape and have took the bypass completely off. Your prob thinking all your drama why didn’t you do this along time ago. Yeah fair. Anyway. Filter roller fully on and let’s see how long the roll lasts. But more importantly the next roll. Will manually remove gha as often as can at least once a week and maintain low nutrients.
My buddy and I got together for our quarterly get together. I got a orange bush coral, zoa garden, peppermint hog and orange spot goby. Hopefully I can keep the bush coral happy. It requires feedings.

Happy Birthday
ED50AB75-7F5C-41A0-B30B-15AC9D41CEDE.jpeg
Well we made it one year. It’s been an adventure. Did I hit my goal of algae free absolutely not. But I do and have always been concerned of phosphate from somewhere and think it’s the root issue and bypass on the filter roller was a stupid idea, wish I clicked earlier.
Replaced the uv bulb, and changed to algae control instead of parasite. Have dosed flux rx yesterday
Fish - Just lost the one wrasse who I believed hurt himself. 13 fish in bumblebee reef.
Corals - only the soft survived and anemones have tickled me very hard in 2022.
POA
Hmmm. I have a few things I would like over the year.
Equipment upgrades would be wavemakers and heaters.
Fish - dragonets, wrasse, blenny
Corals - it is a mixed reef but I’ll be cautious so ideally some tasty lps, dream be a Monti. I really want a lot of gorgonians so be on hunt for them.
Anemones - 2 more RFA
CUC - pistol, starfish, urchin, snails
But all I care about now is algae free and tank stable.

Quarter Two
Goal - Algae Free and stable
Plan to stand strong on all purchases and just hope flux does the biz and I can keep on top of this.
Once satisfied will do an ICP test and change t5 bulbs. I would like to increase concentration of nutrient control to minimise maintenance also.

Well fluconazole really does work. Didn’t see results to 10-14days but wow did it work.
FBFBB818-1A43-493A-841D-B78143960C05.jpeg 46D3EBF6-7179-41A3-99C7-A2E4D3A43763.jpeg Have bought quantum for phosphate control and am using a vinegar vodka sugar vitc mix for nitrate. Skimmer has been off due to treatment and is only back on now but pouring out of itself currently but hopefully can maintain nutrient control and move on.

changed reactor to run carbon and hilariously bought a purple fire fish. Hopefully next month all is same and nutrients have been stable.

Was booted from your build (no notifications). Glad to see everything doing well. Tank looks great! This is one of the best documented builds in my opinion. Best of luck as always :)

Thank you. Yes same pain here, I lost a load of people I was following and had to manually go back into find them (the ones I could remember) and there was so many posts missed. Have high hopes for this year

Fully Automated RODI Unit
always wanted to go to next level. Currently have freshwater plumbed in (ato pump in there) and just flick switch weekly when she’s low and then off the next day.
Saltwater bin is same but never turn off as I only use in large batches so don’t need to worry about tds creep.
kalkwasser bin Wud be same as freshwater but currently not consuming enough to utilize.
So my complaint on my setup is flicking a switch every week on and off . Always thought I’d buy the auto aqua flood guardian at £70 but came across the 1/4 solenoid valve (normally closed) for £7. I owned everything else but if had to buy WiFi plug and dc plug I would ended up at £25. £30 if you didn’t have some wires/connections.
Put her on a bi weekly or weekly schedule for x hours to ensure bins are full and is always doing a good few gallon to avoid tds creep. Real quick project in end up took longer researching and finding what I wanted and finally struck. Hopefully can work well but with my work balance at min was just missing it few times so it should be superb.

PH Meter I need to recalibrate or throw a slide into seneye but rather do that when im happy i am dialed. But this is what im working off, I cannot get over my phosphate. I am ******** myself. When start adding more corals ph will increase as will be dripping kalk, so not truly concerned around pH.
1C306DA6-C7AF-4988-9ECE-11958A076E22.jpeg Havent seen this guy since literally added at Christmas.

This is what I’m dialing against, 4 cubes basically a day, auto feeder sprinkling daily, twice week nori, 1 treat a week and 1 coral feed a week. Dialing is just ensuring everything is running optimally, increase/decrease dosing and wc consistently.

turned reefbreeders off, just wana see if they were the heat for algae source.
decided to get couple soft corals to fill out my soft coral section. Ended up buying couple cheeky lps frags, hopefully it works out. Sometimes you just gotta do it.

CAF73723-A669-4280-B720-2F42D837213A.jpeg Had a holiday, tank was on its own for ten days, mother in law fed the fish for me. 4 cubes a night. Had them portioned in freezer. Defrost in fridge and pop in. Went well. Glass was real dirty and skimmer had good bit foam outside of cup but that’s about it.
