Burnt coral- leave alone or cut?

hello, a piece of coral broke off last night and fell in the monti cap. I don’t really want to cut the spot out but it will be more susceptible to bacteria and algae. Any recommendations?

Anytime. From the pic it doesn't seem to be spreading where it was damaged. If you see fresh white skeleton then I'd advise fragging around it. That's a nice chalice colony.
