Happy Saturday

A few pieces came in the mail today. My Yager heater and my Nano skimmer. Every week we get a little closer. I had forgotten that you need a hundred parts and pieces for a new saltwater setup.

Have a great day..

I moved this over to the members tank forum so you can use it for your build thread. This is certainly a hobby that will teach you patience. Looking forward to watching this one come together.

Ok I've made some great progress lately. The Ai light bracket and the brs reef saver rock came in. We have the aqua scape complete, waiting for the glue and epoxy to dry. I also managed to perform a leak test tonight and equipment check.
Tomorrow will bring sand and Ro water, salt and start heating it up for cycling.

Stay tuned..

Alright, it's all salted up at 35ppm. Temp is a little warm at 79.2. I'm going to let it reciculate for few more hours before I add the Dr Tim's one and only and start the cycling.

Don't you just love displacement? Empty it's 26 gal tank. Once I added rock and sand I barely added 19 gals of water.

And so my reefing journey begins, cheers!

Picked up the final pieces yesterday, the hydra 26 and the 1k gyre wave maker. The wave maker seemed a little big for the tank so I reduced it down by removeing one impeller.

I started the cycle process last Saturday. Ammonium has peaked at 2ppm and nitrite is slowly climbing at .30 ppm. Everything is looking good, just practicing my patience.

Amazon prime dropped of a few goodies today. One of which was the heater for my saltwater mixing bucket. This is me doing a test run and seeing how long it takes to heat up to 78deg.

Cycle still going well. Tuesday I dosed another 2ppm of ammonium chloride. Nitrite and nitrate is up. Just waiting for the ammonium and nitrite to fall back down. Tomorrow will be two weeks the tank has been cycling.

So three weeks in and 4 doses of ammonium and lots of patience. The tank is able to handle about 1ppm in 24hrs. Seems like everyone recommends that the tank handle 2ppm in 24 hrs before a small tank is concidered cycled.
