what are some ways to frag mushroom corals you guys use?, i always just cut it down the mouth like a pizza then used a hammer and chisel to break the rock and seperate and glue them, but a few weeks ago i did that method and accidentally left a bit of just the foot on a piece of the frag plug and it has now turned into a whole new seperate babymushroom with no mouth

I only have rhodactis and orange shrooms and they drop babies on a regular basis.
my mushrooms are all bounce mushrooms and they never seem to drop babies
May not work for bounce but with my ricordea mushrooms I've always just used sharp and clean coral or medical scissors and sliced a random piece off of them from anywhere then give it a dip in Seachem reef dip and leave it in a clear plastic cup in the tank with some small rubble on the bottom for it to attatch to over a few days to weeks then you can reef glue it to rockwork or plugs or something. The little piece cut off always recovers and grows its own mouth in my experience. Again might be useless information for other types tho.

Slice with a really sharp scaplel straight through the mouth.. Place in a container with very little flow on a bed of crushed coral. Once attached to a piece of crushed coral Superglue 'Gel' on to a piece of rock

so from my understanding its safe to frag with it so theres no foot / the foot de-attatches?

My local reefiNg club has band saws. I borrow one of those and use it to cut the mushroom and the frag disc in half.
Aggressive method for a soft coral ie discosoma since there is no skeleton. Band saw is great for lps or large sps but unnecessary for Rhodactis or discosoma. It's a simple splice, just like it would be the procedure for any anemone be it carpet, bubbletip, malu etc

Take a scalpel or razor blade and cut the stalk as close to the base of the rock where it’s attached as you can. A new mushroom will grow where the remaining foot is on the rock. Take the loose shroom and place it in a low flow area with some rubble for it to reattach.
