New Cade 2100 finally in the house.

Cable and dosing line management going on inside, and mixing station happening in the garage. The tank will be going up against the grey wall.

Ikea cabinet came up a treat in the garage. Still plenty to do but it's taking shape.

Found these 2 litre glass storage containers that fit perfectly at this end of the sump. Bought some 100mm and 90mm acrylic disks and glued them together as lids.
The acrylic drawer cover and control board fascia came up a treat. It will sit higher so the switch board lines up. I'm only having one switchboard there for all the lights.

So my Ammonia cycle is complete.
I used an Australian companies protocol for this instead of an off the shelf bottle. They specialize in commercial applications and are now entering the hobby sector. Lab cultured strains of bac and supplements to feed the bacteria. I added bacteria then dosed ammonia up to 8ppm. Waited until ammonia hit zero then repeated the process. continued doing this until the bacteria was converting 8ppm to zero in a 24 hour period.
Nitrites, nitrates and phosphates are now all in check.
Something i am having trouble with is a high calcium reading. I have a mastertronic on this tank and using the API calcium test kit as the reagent. MT is giving me a reading of >560. Manual test with the API kit gives me a reading of 480. Spin touch test gives me a reading of 520.
Firstly, would i be right to assume that the high calcium reading is due to the huge amount of ammonia and nitrification process lowering my alk? Alkalinity dropped to 3 so I would assume that this number would push calcium up. I did think that raising alk back up would lower calcium, but it hasn't. I dosed alkalinity back up to 8.1. Calcium still giving me the high numbers as mentioned above.
I'll re-calibrate the MT tomorrow but i'm guessing that it is more accurate than my manual API test.
I'll also mix up a new batch of salt and do a calcium test on that as a reference. Next would be a water change to bring it down i suppose.

Any thoughts?
