Been running my reef for some months now about a month ago my Calcium was down super low, like 340. Obvouisly l have quite a few stoney corals that were using it up so I slowly brought it up over a week or so and now I have been hovering around 500-520. A little high but I am testing every day and where it drops to 480-460, I add 15 ML. I was dosing 15 ML 2 X a day manually and it wasnt enough, I moved to 20 2 X a day still couldnt get over 420, so I moved up to 30 2 X a day for about a week and it climbed to 500. Everything seems happy, polyps out at night, some during the day. I am seeing growth. My alk hovers around 9-10 and add as needed there. My question is will Calcium 500-520 hurt if I monitor the way I am? I could just not add anything and let it come down but I am trying to get it to a place where I add X amount a day and it is good to go from there.

Stability is key, whether it be at 400ppm or 500ppm.

Thats what I am saying, I had it where it was around 420 or so and I was adding twice a day. I brought it up over a week and it got up to 500 plus and I have been barley adding anything every other day now and it is staying around 500. Can it hurt anything or should I let it come down to 420 and try to keep it around there.again? My alk has been consistent and I have it zero in. I am the process of getting a doser cause this manual **** is for the birds

Oops sorry. yes you can let it come down on its own or through water changes. or you can leave it at 500. either way keep it stable going forward.
