So i decided to recalibrate my PH probe and had some difficulty completing the calibration. It would get stuck on Settling on time out. I am using my PC to run the calibration. I spent 4 packets of 7 and 10 solution and finally got it calibrated. However , I believe it is still off. If i stick my probe into a 7 PH solution and it reads 7, then it is correct then?

If the probe reads 7 and 10 at 7 and 10, respectively, then you could call the probe calibrated. A reading at 7 only tells you it is good at 7.

here's the kicker. When i place the freshly calibrated probes in 7 and 10 solution it is reading correctly. Does this mean my probe is correctly calibrated and reading correctly?

According to the calibrated PH probe .... i am getting 8.51 PH reading. lol

Been trying to increase my PH but i had no idea i was this high. Kalk at night + 2 part + Co2 scrubber = up to 8.6 PH ?

Just to clarify, the pH readings on the probe were off (post #4), then you calibrated the probe and the probe gave the expected readings. If this is what happened, it sounds like the probe drifts.

correct. before calibration its reading high already. stick it in the 7.0 and getting 7.34 before calibration. After calibration, its reading the solution correctly. Stick it in the tank and its reading what i believe is too high.

Probe is only 4 months old from the Apex EL kit i bought brand new.

Yep, all those things running. Yes to soda ash.

I will order a new lab grade double junction probe to confirm.
So, I just bought a milwauke probe and calibrated it. I was getting the same numbers as you when calibrating.
Apex has had an update and this must have been part of it.
I timed out 3 times in the 10 solution. I have very low confidence my phobe is calibrated correctly. 7 was reading 73 4 and 10 SAS reading 10.3ish. Now my tank is reading about 0.3 lower with the new probe and it seems every night is slightly lower than the previous.

You got some Borax? Should give you an idea.

Interesting.... I went and did the same thing. I bought a Milkaukee MW102 portable PH monitor and it matches the Apex.

My PH really is high . My lows is 8.28 and highs of 8.66 .... crazy
