Calmwaters First Saltwater Build

It looks like a bacterial bloom I had. I sucked it up with a hose into a filter sock without changing any water. It's fairly common in new tanks.

Should I cut back on lighting? Do more or bigger water changes? I just don't want it to get out of control...

I am also a let it ride guy.
Just chill, don't go nuts, don't overthink it.
No water changes take everything slowly.
Build up some flora/yuck/stuff in the tank and things will work out.
Slime algae/cyno is from low nutrients/unbalanced nutrients.
Just my thoughts. :)

I wouldn't overdo the water changes but keep up with your regular routine.

Regular maintenance, regular everything let the water change ride for a bit.
You can always pull the rocks and rinse them in some saltwater, scrub etc if it bugs you.
Just natural process happening.

you could scrub it off with a toothbrush prior to the next time you are doing a water change, it might help it not spread and you'll be removing anything that's floating around.

I will do that if it gets much worse than what it is now. I'm hoping my urchin eats enough to keep it from getting to be too much.

That's out of my wheel house. I'm a "let it ride and find out" type of guy on a lot of things. That's why the GHA fiasco hurt my tank so much.

100% agree!!! Ride it out or something worse will take rise
