He has helped me with a few but I just don't like bothering people and that why I ask here we are like family and not just people.

That’s their business to provide information on what they sell - of course it’s good if you ask everything at one time on a particular invoice.

Asking here is great, but as you see, it’s not always easy depending on photo - the more info you give the vets here the better.

You know how Tim and Frank many times know a story about a particular coral once they know more information.

Not sure what we’d all do without them and Joel and Ocean, and Katrina, and Kevin, etc And pretty much everyone has an experience to glean from.

I don’t see anything.

Here is the Red Sea link to the specific lights and the size of tank and the presets. Just choose one of the three (it’s a choice on how white or blue you like tank to look). Do not alter the settings other then putting in acclimation mode for 14 days since you just got a big order of corals. After the 14 days, you leave alone. I never touched mine in 7 months and had nice growth, no burning, no too little light. The whole point of these restrictive lights was to setup success for a reefer and control so they didn’t mess up.

Now, with all that said, you have to do the research on what corals go where from sandbed to top of water. How big a corals tentacles are and how aggressive they are. And similar corals don’t necessarily go next to each other - I.e, Goniporas.

I know you’ve watched the Than videos, but you might need to do a deeper dive with his catalog. Also, the old ReefBuilders articles and videos from when Jake Adam’s was still alive are a wealth of knowledge. And Andrew Sandler just started his University 101 and it takes you through everything- especially fish. I am watching those and he goes into great detail that a non-science person can understand.



I’m sure the Smorg fam can recommend a lot more for you to read/watch.

Unfortunately this hobby is not a read once and your done. Especially since you chose a mixed reef like I did. Much harder for a newbie. And even though you are expert lvl in freshwater, corals are a whole different ballgame.

Well the good thing is if you researched on YouTube or Instagram they have your Watch History saved! And same with your search engine on phone/computer/ipad especially if you used Google. So you still have it - whew.

My history on all those is quite comical cause you see I watched a video on a certain coral and oops, three weeks later I watched it again, and oh yeah, I actually watched it 6 months ago! Old age staring at me right in the search engine!

I don't know how these lights work and I know that each light is different but for my light, which is Ai prime 16, 50% white is too much and gives off a lot of algae, I keep mine's, white light at 25% for only 2 or 3 hours a day, I better send you a photo

Guys, everything is in the Red Sea link I sent. These are truly plug and play and reef safe.

Here is the specific video explaining it more eloquently then I did.



You just need to take the time and read the entire page on Red Sea’s website I sent and view the various videos on specifics you might need.

When I used them, I chose the preset with the least white as that was my personal preference

This one seems to like where I have placed it. I have noticed it seems to extend it's polyps more at night than during the day.

Looks great Amanda, perfect flow on the torch. The corals will let you know if they aren’t happy, but all looks good to me. You might want to put your zoas on an island so they don’t take over your main structure unless that is what you are going for.

1 is likely Pavona
2 is likely Acan/Micromussa Lordhowensis but might be a Bowerbanki or Echinata
3 looks Favia or Echinata
4 looks Lepto
