My "lasagna" coral is slowly looking better again. I have one small piece of the pulsing Xenia that made it and my hairy mushr while still not happy is still alive as I have seen it moving some. The pretty teal mushroom and monti didn't make it. Sammy and Little Man are still airways together and most of the time where they are the neon cleaner goby is near by. My margarita snails seem to be doing great as well and the hermits and other fish are also doing well.

So glad it wasn’t a total loss! The lasagna coral looks great. Hopefully sometime soon you can get some new coral to make up for the lost ones. Miracles can happen. Who knows maybe you’ll be surprised.

Btw, don't write the Xenia off. You'll be amazed at what 6 weeks will do.
This is what's left on the Xenia rock. It doesn't pulsate and seems thick compared to the others that were on the rock. Is it still Xenia or is it something else?

Nope. That appears to be Aiptasia. Anyone else?

You can put it in a small bucket with tank water and inject it with boiling water or lemon juice or kalk paste and see if it spreads. If it dies and doesn't come back after a week or two you can put the rock back.

Aiptasia just spreads so easily.
I really hope it's not spread yet its been in the tank a few weeks now. Does it only spread on a rock it's touching? And I guess that explains why some of the Xenia that was around it sometimes would be all drawn up.

I just put the rock in a bucket without water that should kill it also right?

It appears solo, do the suggestions above, I’ve used lemon juice and F-aptasia with success. Unfortunately no matter how careful I am they always find a way in somehow. Just part of keeping a reef tank.
