I bought a court jester goby yesterday and I woke up this morning and can’t find it. Do they hide or bury themselves?

The Rainfords Goby is a beautiful, small fish. They are timid and will retreat into your rock work at the drop of a dime. They will also jump so be careful. They don’t bury themselves like some Wrasses do so if you can’t find it, I would be looking around your tank and floor, or filter compartments.

I don’t see it on the floor. So does that mean it is in the rocks?

Most likely it in the rocks. They really like to perch in a small gap in the rocks with just their head sticksing out.

I would also check in the overflow and sump just in case.

I had this goby stay in this spot without me seeing him move for the first 4 days. Then over time he started to come out.

They are skiddish upfront and great hiders. You can wait it out or move a few rocks around and will know where it hides
