Hi I’m still new to the hobby and everything’s going good.only spotted this today white blobby looking thing anyone any idea what it may be I’ve never seen it open.I have also noticed I’m getting quite afew star fish around 15+ they appeared from nowhere not sure what type they are but have brownish looking on them

Ok cheers for the reply the blobby thing as moved round abit and looking like it’s opening up abit possibly a some sort of a anemone maybe. It don’t look like a snail thou shall try and get a good picture it’s around back of tank and can’t get a good pic
 
Agreed, those are Asterina Sea Stars, and what may be a rather grumpy anemone.
 
The starfish is an asterina and people are on both sides of the fence about them. Some pluck them as soon as they see them and some let them propagate (and boy do they ever!) and then get a harlequin shrimp to tackle them (cautions around that you so your shrimp doesn’t starve). The blob looks like an anemone that is closed and it could be looking for a new place to settle. But I’m not sure and I’d say you should watch it and see what happens (I.e. opens & settles, starts “melting”’ etc.).
