Can fish get too fat?

Funny, i was just thinking about this. I have been on vacation this week and spent some down time watching my tank. My foxface and Desjardini Tang are constant grazers. I wonder if they are self regulating or would eat themselves until they explode like some dogs i have had.
I got through two sheets every 24 hours with these two. Now this is the fish store sherts and not the sushi sheets. Plus the tang puts on the feed bag when i put the rods food in for the clowns, goby and PJ's. He decours that food.
Now, i think they are both in the healthy thick camp. Round without being rotund. Not even close to being sunken in. I do see them leave it be at times so i think they are eating ehat they want. I hate seeing flat sunken in fish.

I'm convinced my foxface would just continue to eat. He may swim off for a moment, I think to just catch his breath. He then comes back to finish what he started. He hates it when I say...now all those hungry children around the world...

The fattest tangs I’ve seen were in the wild off the coast of St. Martins. Have yet to see any fish in captivity as fat but as others have suggested, I think the food availability is somewhat seasonal.
My fish get fed once a day as well. They get nori almost every day. They all look picture perfect. They are always pickings algae off the rocks, the overflow, and the glass. I think that having them this way is good for them , no real fights are breaking out, everyone dodges what they want.

The only 2 fish that I have that don't eat every day are my eel and my angler. The angler would eat every day if I fed him, but I had one die from overfeeding (slow metabolism= food rot in their stomach) and the eel does not come out for feeding for 2 days after eating (you can tell when he is hungry, lol). Other than that, it's game on.

Well, after a trip to one of the LFS today I can safely say I very much prefer the look of my fish ton thiers. So skinny I almost took them to feed them.

I feed 5-6x a day with live blackworms, baby brine, LRS, Nutramar ova, Nori, pellets, etc...
My wrasses and gobies like nori almost as much as my tangs do and will eat it right off the clip.

Freshwater fish can get overweight and die. But saltwater is just the opposite the fatter they are the better they are. At least that's what it seems like
I got mad at my wrasse last night. I got some pods and didnt wait until light went out and the fish got so fat i turned them off so the pods had a chance to hide. Ill bet he ate half the bottle before i noticed how "solid" the belly had gotten.
