I'm in the process of putting together my first reef tank. Got all my parts, lights, skimmer, sump/refuge, etc., etc., etc. I'm having to rebuild my stand because I had originally wanted to do freshwater and now stand is to short to accommodate all the equip. I've done a ton of reading on this site to make sure I would limit my mistakes.
I'm afraid I blew it already!
My Problem:
I live in So. Calif and got very excited to go to Reef Palozza last week. So excited that I bought a JBJ frag tank three weeks prior. With some bad advice from my lfs I purchased a frag pack on line and planned to purchase more at the swap. 14 Lps frags, 2live rocks, temperature steady at 79. But I know tank isn't cycled and I think frags need feeding. Will anything I put in tank eventually start a cycle and harm or kill coral?
Any help out there?

And what about feeding? I'm doing a 20% wanted change today, I'm at the tanks 4th week, and I'll add more Niteout. Am I doing the best I can? And what is the best I can hope for?

Test ammonia nitrite and nitrate and post the results. Tank needs some food source to cycle properly. I'd go from parameters to decide what and when to feed anything. Good lighting will keep corals going till you can feed more to them and spot feed them only a little 1x a week to start. Lrs reef frenzy nano or rods are good foods. Biggest thing is the parameters right now n making sure cycle is completed.

I hope I'm reading my test right. Tomorrow I will get a nitrite test kit and post nitrite. Thanks for the help.

You actually don't have to feed your corals bc they're photosynthetic. Lots of people DO feed coral, and it's thought that it bolsters growth and coloration (there's debate about whether or not feeding corals is necessary), but it isn't a necessity. So, for now don't feed until you get your tank settled in.

Just keep testing your water and doing water changes. Keep that ammonia down.
