Can Leather Toxins kill inverts?

Odd question, but I had a had a perfectly happy Emerald Crab that has been with me for nearly a year and he died suddenly today. I can't pinpoint how he died, but it made me think because the last few days he has been climbing up on one of my Toadstool Leather Corals at night and hanging out nearby all day. I know Leathers can sometimes release toxins when stressed but I've never read anything about it killing inverts.

What do you guys think? Is this a potential possibility?

Highly doubt it. The toxins they release called terpenes inhibit other corals growth but I’ve never known them to kill inverts.

Inverts safe and most coral safe. Terpenes which are the toxins are low level toxins and alleviated with use of high grade carbon

I figured as much. I was just trying to think of potential causes of death for my little crab. He was always eating, up until his last day so I'm perplexed as to what could've happened. Perhaps he was old.
