Candy cane coral

Hi everyone,

I started my reef tank a little over two months ago and everything has been going great.

A month ago I noticed something growing on this candy cane stalk. There are two group of round green growths plus a center dark growth

I have been monitoring it and the two outer growths are getting bigger. The smaller center growth seems to have the same size.

This is a picture today (a month later)

The center growth seems to have a little tube but its hard to tell.

Any idea what this is? Coral seems happy and fully extends every day.

Vermetid snail - regarded as a pest but can be removed. They irritate coral and seem to grow in a worst spots.

Green bubbles are bubble algae and should not be taken off in the tank. Bring it to a tub of saltwater, scrape them off, rinse well and put back. The other is a vermetid worm. Pains. Can be removed by chipping off with bonecutters, but be careful and soft handed to not damage the coral.

The green bubbles are bubble algae. They can be removed in the tank, the bubbles are pretty tough and do not contain spores, a common misconception.

Thanks for the updated info. I just scrape all algae off outside of tank. I hate to idea it could spread. :)
