Candy cane question

Does anyone have and idea what could have happened to my candy cane? It was fine yesterday and came home to it looking like this? I'm currently running fallow and have 2 emerald crabs, turbo snails and a fire shrimp.. thanks for the help!

Emerald crabs ................. They go in to steal food and get a little aggressive . I would watch for that as now he has a taste for it and knows its an easy meal!!!!!!

agree with with @cjd
I've watched them directly go after coral. have to keep them well fed or the will find something else to feed on :(
