Candy cane question

Hello, I have a question. When I bought my candy cane it had the one large polyp and 2 other teeny tiny polyps on the other stalks. that was until my pistol shrimp decided to decorate the entrance of his cave with it and now, they're gone. will they grow back?

Those 2 heads don’t look like they will come back, it’s not impossible but very unlikely.

that said, candy canes are good hearty coral and that healthy head will be growing and splitting in no time if you keep that frag glued down your tank parameters stable, and candy cane do well with fairly regular feedings.

what do you feed yours with? reef- roids?

They can eat mysis and meaty foods, they have pretty large mouths and short tentacles to catch food. But powder foods like reef roids, chili, blizzard etc are fine too, over feeding can be bad so Do it in moderation.

Likely not but it will yet produce more heads. Elevate the candy cane and assure moderate light and water flow and feed mysis shrimp 2X per week

Growth is exponential, so that 1 polyp takes a while to grow into 2, and those 2 into 4, once you have 10-15 it starts growing pretty rapidly.
