Hopefully I can give some kind of update to that other thread soon, I have the acrylic cut and the film applied. I haven't had a chance to find away to attach it or borrow a par meter to see how much difference it will make. After tomorrow I will be off work for the next month, so hopefully I can atleast let you know how that one film worked out.
The inexpensive one I use is $14 the waterproof Milwaukee is 70
I should add meter the top of the tank and the bottom. And yes the water will effect it but not as much as distance.
So if you turn on the lights and try different diffusions you can read the intensity loss of done in one spot. The higher the intensity loss through diffusion the higher the shift to warm.
Think wax paper and printer paper.
You may also want to note a par meter will register a higher par with yellow red and orange as it's also a contributor to par. Keep in mind it's also mostly used to grow plants. And plants Like those colors.
Thus it might be a good idea to test both.
