Maybe everyone knew this but me but since I'm a new reefer, I would have bet my last dollar that my 2 nassarius snails died! Could not even see the little tube sticking up..
I have 2 of those and 2 leopard snails I like to call my animal print snails!
So I kept testing and my ammonia level never moves from zero so I remembered I saw a snail go on top of a clam on a half shell.
So I dropped 2 in the tank and like a magic, all 4 snails appeared in about 2 min flat! The nassarius snails came up like a submarine from the sand and the leopard snails climbed up the glass and traveled all around the tank till they reached there destination clam!
Then, my peppermint shrimp AND my fire shrimp joined in and it was awesome! 4 snails 2 shrimp all sharing the food all next to each other. All within a 3x3" area.
Can't find your snails? Frozen clams on a half shell from the frozen fish food section. Then get the camera ready.
