1) I’m going to have about a 10 day gap from when I run out until I get my new batch made. I used last months formula and adjust the days to 14, using the purple grid, the amounts are the same at either 14 or 7 days? I also must have mucked up last months formula. I have new bottles and the amount missing doesn’t match what I was putting in. For example. Si and F are more for 14 and 7 days then are what are missing from the bottle, bottles were new last months sigh….

Shouldn’t the amounts change due to how many days solution I want to make? Or do I have to do that math?

2) See video. I assume it has to go in a high water flow area? I didn’t realize this would precipitate.

1. Dosing Formula Confusion (14 vs 7 Days)

You’re absolutely right — yes, the amounts should change depending on how many days of solution you're preparing. Here’s how it breaks down:

Why Amounts Should Change?

If your dosing volume per day stays the same, and you're making a stock solution to last:

7 days you only need 7x daily dose in the bottle.

14 days you need 14x daily dose.

So the amounts in the purple grid should scale with the number of days. If the purple grid is showing the same weights for 14 and 7 days, something's wrong — either with the formula logic or inputs

2. Mismatched Consumption (e.g. Si & F bottles)

If your bottles were new last month but haven’t dosed the expected amount:

Make sure to check: Did the doser actually run properly?

Precipitation or settling: If silica (Si) or iron (F) precipitated or settled in the container, it might not have been dosed out fully.

Agitation issues: Some additives like silica really need to be shaken often or used fresh — they can form gels or clumps, especially if exposed to trace calcium/magnesium or not kept in a high-flow area after dosing.
