Captive bred Australian harlequin tusk

Thinking of buying one. Searched the forums and couldn't find much information about it.
Anyone has one and can share experience?

Over the Christmas holiday, I got 3 HT from a wholesaler that was just 1.25 inch. So small that they cannot eat larger pieces of mysis. I have to shave mysis for them. Also started to train them to eat pellets. Mow they are about 2.5 inches. I only keep 1 the other two went to my friends tanks.

They are hardy but you got to keep them isolate for a few weeks before let them into the DT. Mine were WC Australian.

Wondering what's the reason for having to keep them isolated? being captive bred are they still not used to dry food?

I have a 320 gal.
Little baby fishes are timid and since they are soooo small does not have any reserve for any margin of error. To protect my investment I would make sure I see how he behave before I let him to fend for him self in the DT. He is mine a short time after I got him

That is the largest CB harlequin I've ever seen. Do you know the history on it? Did somebody buy it as CB and then grow it up in size? Usually, the people propagating these (like Biota) need to sell them at a smaller size in order to try and keep the cost profitable.

The reason that I ask is that with Harlequins, there has always been an issue with improper labelling of the fish. It is well known that Australian WC and Biota CB are hardier, and WC Philippine and Indonesian are much more delicate....so at times, the name "changes" as they move through the supply chain. Your LFS may have been told wrong.....

That got to be ~3 inches fish. Defiantly it does not come straight from the breeder.
