I recently purchased two red carpet anemones from another reefer out of state. I was told they were haddoni carpets, but after receiving them, someone mentioned they don’t quite look like typical haddonis. When I reached out to the seller, he mentioned that these two were splits from his main carpet anemone.
I was under the impression that haddoni anemones don’t usually split, so now I’m not entirely sure what they are. I’ve attached a couple of photos (from the seller) of the two I received, as well as a picture of the mother anemones they came from. I can take some closer pictures of them in my tank tomorrow when my lights are back on. He said his usually max out around 12 inches across and that these two are about a year old.
If anyone has an idea of what species they might be, I’d really appreciate the input. Thanks!
