After searching the site, I have this question about your refugiums. Mine is on the smaller side and I get okay chaeto growth. I’m able to use a Tunze light and works okay.
In one of the BRS videos, their chaeto was rotating in the fuge so ore surface gets light exposure. Mine doesn’t do that.
The question is, how many of you rotate or rearrange your chaeto to get all around light exposure, or does it not make any difference?

I think I rotate mine every five to seven days. I’ve heard of people putting pumps at the bottom to keep the Chaeto constantly rotating, I think that might be over kill.

I also run a H160 Kessil for nine or ten hours a day on the opposite time schedule as my main lighting.

I run mostly a softy/ leather reef so my nutrients are a bit higher.
Nitrate 5-10
Phosphate 0.08
I have no algae issues luckily
My torches, Duncan’s, etc all look good. Again, easy corals to grow.
It’s very hard to resist tweeking things, ha.

As for the pods, I routinely add algeabarn pods, but hard to see if I’m getting a stable population.
You should only need one batch... don’t let those suckers suck you in for many orders. If your population dies out, then you would need to order more.
You should be able to see them very close on your glass.

I’ll have to look closely. I have a Kole tang that seems quite good at finding things. I also add their phytoplankton to feed the corals and it seems to do quite well. I need to start making my own.
