Hey guys, so this is my first post, but I've been reading on the forum for awhile. I've got a chalice (miami hurrican) but it hasn't grown much in the past few weeks that I've had it. From reading past threads I've found that typically an alk of 9-10, high mg of 1500+, low light, low flow, are what's needed for optimal growth. Any chalice experts have any input? Maybe something about what food is used as well?

You pretty much have it down, don't expect it to grow huge over night. Also make sure your calcium is good as well. And post some pics

That is one of the if not the fastest grower out there, so you will get good growth give it time to settle in and everything first then wait a month.

Not to disagree with you Butts (not sure what the formal of butts is? ) but I never wait for my chalices to put out their feeder tentacles. I turn all pumps in the tank off, then apply a sinking food to their mouths (I really like the H20 reef caviar, as I've gone on and on and on about way too many times I'm sure) and over 80 percent of the time they'll suck it in. Sometimes they'll reject it the first time, but after about ten minutes I'll reapply and they'll accept it. After a few times, the ones who rejected the first feeding will begin to accept the first feeding.

Now around 6pm they all just open their mouths wide open and wait for the food, and only put their feeders out when I forget to feed them for a few days in a row.

OK, i've never tried that, but I never turn off any pumps either so that wouldn't work for me, but good idea

I find the same thing. I feed every other day.
