Found this in a lfs $20 bucks
You have to be kidding, That's a head splitter or something. What a deal!
I'm going to have to run down to WWC and grab one of these - maybe today because the wife and dogs are all starting to get antsy. May be a good time for a road trip
Haha, if you ever see one you should grab it, I have only seen one other one for sale on their site since I got this one at Macna.
This really floats my boat, I recently lost my gold one, what light is that under, how high up is it please?
It was under an ATI fixture in my Frag tank And was near the top of the water so it was getting a good amount of par. I just moved it into my display 2 days ago so we will see how it reacts
Wow awesome color
Insane Thread !
got this little badboy. Can anyone tell me how to light it? looks like loosing tissue.

is that fine on them?
how do you grow them?
Wow some real beauties
I might consider using the coral lab A/B settings but knocking the W/Cw/G/R down to about 10%. My experience has been that 80-100 par works well though I have also had success under 150-200 using MH bulbs and currently have several under T5s at 90-100 par, all are doing well. If you dont have a par meter consider something like a Seneye that will report blues correctly - not too expensive juxtaposed against loosing a $500 chalice frag. If the frag is new to you and it loosing flesh it may well have been in an environment with very high or low nutrients. I would suggest testing your water and correcting anything that looks out of spec. You may also want to consider your mag levels. Chalice seem to thrive with slightly higher mag levels - around 1400 has always been a sweet spot for me and others. Lastly chalice thrive when they feed frequently. The more often you feed the more eyes/mouths the chalice will develop and the faster they will grow. Good luck!
hi, thanks alot for your reply
My water conditions are very good and stable, verified with monthy analysis.
Ive read about the magic 1400 MG level and upped mine from 1320 to 1400
Yes, i will definately will get a seneye
Youre right, the chalice was in lower nutrients and much higher light (Acro fragtank) before!
Thanks i will try the SPS AB but im afraid of UV and Violets that high :/
Finally getting some good growth on this one.
Avatar is growing like crazy lately....
