My salinty is 0.25. I use coral life salt. Lastnight I dosed interceptor. So we will see if things get better. Could it be the salt brand?

I just finished and interceptor treatment yesterday. They started to recede after my alk decided to do a little dance. It didn't stop until I interceptored though, almost like they kept the pods at bay until they were stressed. And btw, 0.25 is really low. You need salt. :)

It is 1.0025 I think. Cant remember how many zeros. I am sure thats not to low. It might be able to go up a little.

I've had the same thing happen to me. I switched to TM Bioactif and all my LPS stared receding. I'm still using it right now but I didn't have anything to go by until your post. I thought that my water was too clean and I have been feedin my tank alot to keep them from receding further but now I have cyano everywhere. Now that I've heard someone else with the same problem, I might go back to TM Pro like before. I still have half a bucket left. My sps are looking great too. I like my LPS more so I'll favor them over SPS and do what's best for them.

To make it worse, I changed my carbon a few weeks ago too and I need to change my bulbs like real soon. What's the best way to do that?

I know what youre saying bro... I dont want to take over this thread so you can send me a PM and we can talk about it. Ill tell you right now that as far as im concerned you better start doing large water changes with a different salt. You will lose most of youre chalices. Im NOT knocking the salt. As you said yourself, your SPS love it. Its not good for our particular situation.

So are you saying it could be salt???

Ok..I only quickly read through this..but this was happening to me recently and it may have been because I was dosing kalk. I transfered them to another tank and they've been doing great.

Also, why is your tank getting hotter at night? Are you sure your thermometer is working properly? I also just had an issue with mine and had to replace them because they went bad...were saying that my tank was almost 90 degrees when it was actually 78.

Im saying that its not the right salt for my chalices and LPS... As stated by guia, his SPS love it but his LPS are receeding. I had a few chalices die and many recede. I love tropic marin products. So, since this salt is essentially the same as carbon/vit C dosing and i was doing weekly 20% water changes maybe this salt was causing my problems. And if it was, its my fault for dosing carbon on an LPS tank.

My lights come on at night

Transfer any stressing lps to a safe tank until you figure it out.

For what it's worth I switch to TM salt too with 20% water change in 2 months my chalices turned brown and started to rtn. my chalice started to die off and effected my water quality that
started to effect my sps. I did 3 big water changes and I think everything is stable and I hope my tank doesn't need to cycle again.
