Hey everyone! This is my 40 breeder build. I am fairly new to the hobby, got started in January with a fluval 13.5 evo tank and ended up upgrading during a recent tank sale to a 40 breeder. This is very much a WIP as I'm planning on using the 13.5 as a sump/refugium for the 40 and am slowly acquiring equipment to get there. For now the 13.5 is just hanging out with a colony of pest snails that I am planning on taking care of before turning it into a sump. I'm not planning on drilling the tank, and am instead planning on using an over the tank overflow (I can't remember the name but I believe it's lifereef that's been highly recommended on this forum) when the time comes!

Currently I have 2 prime 16HD for lighting and a nero 3 for flow (going to add another in a few weeks).

As far as stock goes, this is what's currently in the tank:
1 emerald crab
1 pincushion urchin
1 tuxedo urchin
1 oscelaris clown
1 black ice snowflake oscelaris clown
4 bumblebee snails (to combat a few pest snails)
1 Lettuce nudibranch
A small frag of pulsing xenia
A larger frag of xenia
Some frogspawn

Definitely looking forward to watching everything grow together! It's been a great experience so far!

Have fun with the 40 breeder. After years with 180g tanks and over 700g of saltwater in the house (4 tanks & 2 big sumps) I'm having a great time with just a 40 breeder used as an aio tank with corals, anemones, inverts and NO fish!

As an update since my initial post:
Unfortunately the nudibranch had a run in with my nero 3 and he did not survive (there was a cage on it but he made it through, learned my lesson there)
I've added a shuriken zoanthid colony, a gsp colony and a long tentacle anemone (the pictures attached are when he was moving to a new location)
Editing to add: i forgot to list two other new additions: a banded coral shrimp and a mandarin goby

As far as equipment goes, nothing has really changed except part of the tank is on a battery backup now and I have an Osmilator 3 for my ATO (i love it so much lol)

This is already looking so cool! I also have the same ATO and man it really makes my life easier
Thanks I'm excited for everything to spread throughout the tank lol! And yeah i love it, I don't have a lid on my tank so I was losing on average 4-5 gallons a week. And with work, I always waited until the weekend and didnt like doing it all at once and disturbing everything in the tank lol.

I use the same ATO in my tank and couldn't be more pleased with the build quality.
