Cheap effective hob overflow for very slow flow

Hey so a buddy just gave me a 10gal and I want to attach it to my system as a remote fuge for my 40dt+20sump. I'm broke as a joke and am interested in making an overflow for it. I don't want to drill it because its so thin. It will be below my DT but above my sump. I'm planing to T my return line and run a very slow flow into the fuge. I turn my return pump off and back on everyday for feeding so the overflow needs to be able to restart on its own.

There are several good hob overflows here and other places. all use about $20 or less of pvc parts from you local stores. the principal is to form a water trap to insure it restarts after power out.

These are much more quiet than any hob two container overflows that do not have some kind of durso or stockman. the key to getting them quiet to vent the air into the drain and trap the water rushing noise inside the pipe with then ends both blocked with water. to prevent the final little bit of rushing noise to slow down the water in the drain
