Check out this pink goni :)

Just wanted to share the pink goni I received recently from Aqua SD — titled, “Super West Goniopora”. Have never seen this name elsewhere; if anyone has any info or insight into it lmk.

Still adjusting to the tank, hence the minimal extension.
Any tips for the caring of these guys?

Hmm, interesting. What makes you think it’s not a goni? This is what it was sold as:

Just double checked, it indeed does have the right amount of of tentacles going round

AquaSD gives random names. It’s wild goniopora they imported and fragged.

Hopefully you get some nice extension. But since it’s wild, it doesn’t really have any lineage so just normal goniopora care. Gonis maintain color really well so hopefully it colors up to an even nicer pink

I've heard ASD is a chop shop. Wild harvested goni don't have a stellar survival rate from the info i gathered when I was researching goni.

Probably because of the cube shape. That poor coral hasn't even had time to properly heal.

I see manganese as a consistent recommendation for the care of gonis, and i’d like to! Any recs for dosing regimens?

Same here! In my recent email discussion with them I asked about the origins and they said it’s most likely maricultured.

Yes! The camera doesn’t capture it all that well but i like the nice pink coloration, especially in bluer lighting.
