I upgraded my return pump today and was checking my plumbing for leaks since I am now using a pump with 5x more turn over than my previous one and I spotted a leak. Well needless to say I was worried so I unplugged my new pump to investigate further where the leak was coming from. It was leaking around the bulkhead on my right side overflow!! And by the presence of salt creep I know it wasn't a NEW leak!! Well I cleaned up the salt creep and noticed that the fitting (nut) was LOOSE!! I know I tightened it when I installed it and have never had one come loose before. But now I will check it on my monthly maintenance schedule. I just wanted to share so others might benefit from my mistake?. Is there something else I can or should do to keep this from happening again?
