Been on my list for a while, finally got a piece just hate buying frags this small. Wasn't much to look at when I got it but trusted the seller and in the 4 weeks I have had it, its getting some nice color.. even seeing some yellow in the polyp base! Its location makes it hard to take pics but I will do my best. Been on the hunt for a nice used DLSR. 4/9/19

I have 2 tgc cherry bomb frags that I purchased from live sales in August. One is growing like crazy and the other has done absolutely nothing. They are both receiving similar flow and par.

Can we get an update on this? I just got a frag too but it doesn’t the nice colors yet.
Soon i will be updating. I wouldn't worry too much on yours mine was pretty pale when i got it but as it has settled, the red in the polyps really starting to show better. Needs some blue to really show it well. I also put this one at the highest point in my tank, tenuis love being baked!

Mine has done exceptionally well, ever since I put it in ~400 par. Probably doubled in 6 weeks.

The corallites are quite large, and the yellow is pretty cool. It’s under T5s, so doesn’t have that neon red that you may see from Radions.

Update 04/23/19. Getting thicker and starting to encrust down

That’s super nice. I feel yours is a true representation of how it should look in real life.

I’m finally pulling pinks out of mine, it was bleached for weeks. Turning down the intensity and increasing the photoperiod helped a lot with this piece.

I don’t know what par it’s under, and basing it off of someone I know who has a similar set up as me and hanging them at a similar height (12.5” from the water), it should be sitting under 4-500 par max. I used to run my reefbreeders at 100% blues and violet and 24% whites, green red, but have since tweaked it down to 85% blues, violet, 22% red green and 20% white for 8 hours and 4 hour ramp up and 4 hour ramp down.
I should really invest in a par meter though. I do run a ton of flow: 6 tunze (about to be 7), gyre 250 and eductors on my returns.

Since then, about 2 months, it’s putting out branches. Still has insane PE, this photo was right after a water change.

Coloring up reaaaaal nice

I’m sorry if this sounds rude, and that’s not the objective, but what’s the rationale for keeping it on the rack for 2+ months? My frags go directly on their rocks after qt and dip. Just wondering. It looks fantastic btw.

I have lots of corals on my rocks too. Once it gets bigger, I’ll put it on the rock :)
