Chiller turn on/off by itself

Anyone have experience with chillers? I have Arctica 1/5 HP and it power cycles by its self. The display goes blank for few second than turns off and goes black again. I have it directly plugged it. Sometimes it does turn on and cools the water

I can't speak for these Arctica chillers directly, but I do Commercial and Industrial ref and Hvac for a living. When units cycle like that it is usually a control board issue or a control voltage issue.

Usually when they do that its getting feedback from the control voltage, either the control board or a contactor or relay going bad. I would call their tech support and see what they have to say, maybe it can be fixed.

You or someone who is mechanically inclined got check for a loose wire or two and worst case scenario if you know someone that is familiar with refrigeration They can wire it up where it runs direct and you buy a temperature controller that controls Cooling, hope I didn't lose you

When you wire the chiller direct where runs without the board the temperature controller you buy which is independent separate from chiller all you do is plug in the chiller to the temperature controller the controller does everything else the controller also has its own cord that gets plugged in the outlet

here’s a diagram of my chiller how would I go about bypassing the controller? I have apex and another temp control I could you as backup. So I’m trying to have chiller on all the time and use apex to turn it on/off

Unplug connector male that has 123 numbers, wire nut 1 & 3 that's it. Nice thing is, fuse is still use able.

Just remember doesn’t matter if you buy $25 controller or $200 controller, the temp. sensor needs to be coated, none are designed to directly come in contact with H2O. Correct install requires a well. But a well not compatible with reef keeping.

Fuse blown

The fan would spin if compressor issue but nothing happens , fuse
I'm thinking glass fuse is type

No fuse not blow when I reconnect wires it turns on and I tried multiple fuses. I have no clue why it’s not turning on when I have it directly wired

I don’t know when I reconnect it to controller it runs it’s weird it’s like it has some kind of safety mechanist build in

I called the manufacturer and they said it sound like compressor which sucks thank you for your help
